I did a detour to Norfolk Virginia to visit this ship. Originally designed in the 1930s, the ship has been retrofitted for use through the mid and late 1900s. The main deck, two decks down and 3 decks up are open for people to explore. There is also two museums that set with the ship and will have photos in another section.
It was actually raining most of the time I was walking above deck so I did spend 3/4 of the time inside the ship. I got a little dizzy walking around the inside the ship I think mainly because of everything looking so similar every time you went around a corner.
There was even an onboard jail
